  About The Speaker:

  
  

  Dr. Relwani is an Ivy League trained clinical endocrinologist in practice for greater than 17 years. She speaks nationally on the topic of cardiometabolic disease. She recently started DesiDil (www.desidil.org), the first cardiometabolic practice focused on prevention for underrecognized high risk groups including South Asians, Filipinos and Women.

  
  

  She is active in the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Georgia Society of Endocrinology, American Society of Preventive Cardiology, and has been asked to sit on the Diabetes council for the American Heart Association.

  She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU.

  
  

  She is a multi-year Atlanta Magazine Top Doctor award recipient, multi-year Castle Connolly Top Doctor award recipient, multi-year Castle, Connolly Top Women in Medicine Recipient, and Castle Connolly top AAPI Doctor.

  About Misa's Session:

  In this interactive workshop, participants will explore how the scarcity mindset, particularly prevalent in immigrant and Asian American communities, can unconsciously influence career decisions, leadership, and personal growth. Through reflection and practical strategies, attendees will learn how to recognize limiting patterns, shift toward an abundance mindset, and confidently invest in themselves and others.   Make a meaningful impact with GAPABA's Wellness Committee at our volunteer event benefiting Atlanta's Ronald McDonald House. Together, we'll prepare nourishing meals and children's favorites for families supporting their hospitalized children.

  KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: DOWNLOAD

  • Each volunteer will need to be let in by a staff member, do not allow other individuals to enter the House under your access. 
  • Volunteers plan menu and bring in the necessary ingredients for volunteer opportunity.  
  • All volunteers over the age of 18 must bring their driver’s license or passport to check into Centegix. 
  • 9:00am -12 noon commitment. Brunch is served at 10:30 am. 
  • You may have a maximum of 12 volunteers per meal group. 
  • All volunteers must be 14 years and older and accompanied by an adult chaperone if under 18 years old. All children must stay in the kitchen with an adult at all times. 
  • Each group will be asked to wear masks and gloves during the duration of their volunteering. 
  • All food must be prepared on-site in our kitchen unless purchased from a commercial kitchen establishment such as a restaurant, caterer, or deli. 
  • The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, baking sheets, mixing bowls, measuring cups, cutting boards, cooking utensils, etc. There are 4 ovens and stove ranges available for use.
  • Groups must remain in the designated volunteer area on the first floor. Unless escorted by a staff member, volunteers are not permitted upstairs. 
  • Plates, silverware, and glasses are provided. However, we encourage bringing paper products for easier clean-up. 
  • When packing up the excess food at the end of your meal service, all food must be placed into individual to-go containers. Please plan on bringing to-go boxes with you to pack up your leftovers at the end of the night. We recommend bringing containers best suited for the food you plan on serving. Preferred containers are listed on our Amazon Wish List.  The leftovers will be placed in our family refrigerators for guests to access after the meal is over. 
  • Please be prepared to serve around 70-80 people. Occupancy fluctuates daily. 
  • Clean-up begins around 45 minutes after serving time.
