GAPABA Communications provide regular information to our membership, including events and job announcements, and administers our membership database. Comms are responsible for e-blasts, developing our social media strategy, and for updating and administering our Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram as well as maintaining our website. The Committee provides information about GAPABA to news media and other external parties. If you have an affinity for social media, please consider volunteering!

The Community Service Committee creates pro bono opportunities for our members and supports charitable events that assist our APA communities and Atlanta community at large. They work with local non-profit organizations including PAWS Atlanta, We Love Buford Highway, and others.  If you have ideas or want to join in planning our pro bono or community service events, please contact us!

The Finance Committee reviews and recommends the annual budget and is responsible for financial controls assisted by our Bookkeeper. Led by our treasurer, it manages our incoming and outgoing expenses, invoicing to vendors, check payments, receipts, and reimbursements. Each Committee proposes a budget for events in 6-month periods, which are reviewed by the Board for approval.  If you have a head for figures, or administrative accounting details to assist in reviewing our budget, handling sponsorship invoicing, and reconciling reimbursement for events, join us!

For the 12th Annual GAPABA Gala on Thursday, May 21, 2026, there are no formal Gala Committee Chairs. Instead, former Chairs and Board Members are collaborating as General Committee Members. Current members include Fanny Chac, Kayla Chen, Prathyusha Chenji, Kasey Chow, Tina Dorr, Shreya Desai, Jeff Sayer, Alexis Suh, and Vy Vu. The Gala Committee spearheads the planning and coordination of GAPABA's Annual Signature Fundraising Event, which is the premier legal event in the Southeast. Our Annual Gala is regularly attended by 600+ guests and attracts dozens of General Counsel, in-house counsel, judges, elected officials, and other VIPs. We also enjoy the annual Corporate Sponsorship of many of the largest firms and Fortune 1000 companies in Georgia and around the country. The Law Students Committee organizes events and activities geared towards law students to provide networking and mentoring opportunities, and to develop the next generation of GAPABA's leaders. Annual programs include mock interview sessions and soft skills networking. The GAPABA Law Students Committee also coordinates with various Georgia APALSA leadership. If you are a law student, and are interested in developing or attending events geared towards you, contact us!

The Nominations Committee is dedicated to recognizing prominent and outstanding members of the GAPABA community for awards and distinctions within the larger legal network. It is responsible for reviewing referrals, nominating exceptional candidates for recognition, and aiding candidates with references, letters, and other components of the application. The Professional Acceleration & Transformation (PATC) Committee organizes events and activities geared towards attorneys seeking to get to the next level of their legal careers. The Committee plans and coordinates activities and programs during the year to further the professional development and knowledge base of the membership, and provide practical and honest advice, strategies, and tips on how to succeed. In 2023, PATC has created a formal GAPABA Mentor/Mentee Program, with an application process for mentees to gain assignment to mentors.

GAPABA Managing Director Vy Vu is responsible for coordinating our calendar of annual activities and events, and standardizing procedures for program logistics, coordinating volunteers, and maintaining the high quality of GAPABA events. The Public Service Committee creates events and activities that support, in a non-partisan fashion, GAPABA members who have an interest in pursuing judicial office, political appointment, public service position, or other non-partisan elected office.  In 2018, GAPABA instituted a policy for candidates seeking political appointment, or endorsement for judicial, prosecutorial or other positions. If you are interested in seeking GAPABA's endorsement, please read our POLICY and fill out GAPABA's Public Service Committee Candidate Questionnaire and contact us!

    The Wellness Committee was conceived to promote well-being amongst GAPABA members using a holistic approach. The committee will host programming specifically designed to address our community’s emotional, spiritual, physical, and nutritional needs. Additional programming would include workshops focused on time-management, managing stress, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and bringing joy to our lives. The versatility of the committee allows for collaboration across all committees, particularly the women’s leadership network, and the new lawyers/law students committee.

    The Women's Leadership Network promotes inclusion, empowerment and advancement of Asian Pacific American women in the legal profession.  The Committee is dedicated to advocating, educating, mentoring, networking and developing leadership within the profession and larger community. In addition to leadership workshops, WLN hosts an annual signature dinner, dedicated to highlighting APA women in the legal profession.
