And They Came for Us, winner of a 2018 American Bar Association Silver Gavel Awardis a documentary about the incarceration of Japanese-Americans following the 1943 signing of Executive Order 9066. Over 120,000 Japanese-Americans were forcibly vacated from their homes and businesses, and were housed in internment camps for the remainder of World War II. The profound violation of these citizens’ constitutional rights reminds us that we all have a role to play in our respective communities to fight injustice and to stand up for our rights.
