Presentation of the Second Annual

Han C. Choi Mentor Award

At the Lunar New Year Banquet, GAPABA will announce the Second Annual Han C. Choi Mentor Award, to honor one of our most outstanding former members, Past President and Boardmember, and previous recipient of the Judge Alvin T. Wong Pioneer Award. The Award is meant to recognize members of the legal profession who have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to mentoring the next generation of Asian Pacific American attorneys. Han, a Partner at Ballard Spahr, was the first APA Managing Partner of a BigLaw Firm in Atlanta.

The NAPABA Law Foundation (NLF) has also partnered with the Choi Family to announce the creation of the Han C. Choi Scholarship, to honor a NAPABA Trailblazer, mentor and leader, who embodies grit and courage in the face of great adversity.

The NLF seeks to raise $125,000 for the Scholarship Fund, which is intended to benefit deserving Asian Pacific American 1L or 2L law student candidates who exhibit academic excellence, leadership, volunteerism, mentorship experience, and demonstrate an interest in APA issues. Special consideration will also be given to applicants who have been adversely affected by cancer (as a survivor, or family member of a victim or survivor).
