Presentation of the Third Annual

Han C. Choi Mentor Award:

At the LNY Banquet, GAPABA will present the 3rd Annual Han C. Choi Mentor Award, to honor the memory of our Past President and Boardmember. The Award is meant to recognize members of the legal profession who have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to mentoring the next generation of Asian Pacific American attorneys. Han, formerly a Partner at Ballard Spahr, was the first APA Managing Partner of a BigLaw Firm in Atlanta.


The NAPABA Law Foundation (NLF) has partnered with the Choi Family to create the Han C. Choi Scholarship, in the amount of $5,000, awarded annually todeserving APA 1L or 2L law student candidate who exhibits academic excellence, leadership, volunteerism, mentorship experience, and demonstrate an interest in APA issues. Special consideration is given to applicants who have been adversely affected by cancer (as a survivor, or family member of a victim or survivor). The Scholarship funds must be used to further the recipient’s law school education. The Award will be presented at the 2020 GAPABA Gala and the recipient must accept the award at the event. All travel and lodging expenses will be paid for by GAPABA.
